Clinical trials are research projects conducted to determine if a new investigational therapy is safe and effective. UC Davis conducts more than 1,000 research studies annually, with the goal of bringing safe and effective treatments to patients more quickly. The communities served by the UCDMC aid in this process by volunteering in clinical trials for new treatments. Because the effects of diseases and therapies can vary with age, race, and ethnicity, UCDMC encourages diversity in its clinical trial enrollments.
