Our Big Toys
Our lab is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging systems. All imaging units are coupled to patch-clamp electrophysiology workstations for simultaneous recording of fluorescence and electrical signals.
Olympus Multi-Photon Microscope. The microscope has a resonant scanner capable of acquiring over 33 (512 x 512 pixels) images per second. Faster imaging rates can be attained with smaller regions of interest. | Andor Diskovery Spinning Disk microscope for ultrafast 2-d imaging. The system has to EMCCD cameras for simultaneous imaging of two fluorophores. |

Leica 3D GSD super resolution microscope. | Olympus FV1000 confocal system. It has a SIM scanner, which allows us to simultaneously photo-activate light-sensitive proteins and image cells. |
Fernando’s patch clamp set up. Yes, he can still patch a ventricular myocyte. | Olympus TIRF unit. | Last, but not least, our Saeco Talea Touch Plus ultra-automatic espresso machine. Without a doubt, the most used equipment in the lab. |
